The Freedom Song Trilogy – Volume 1  This CD consists of 3 songs previously released as singles.  The singles are available on various servers (iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, etc.).  Each song relates to ways to obtain freedom — whether by inspiration, by determination, by faith.

“Tell Mamala” (for Vice President Kamala Harris) — echoes the need for a phenomenal woman — a role model for the ages with class and sass; smarts, swagger and “stank” eye; in pearls and “chucks,” and rocking Mary J.  Horns arranged by Zack Smith.
(G. Adegbalola, Hot Toddy Music, ASCAP)

“A Tribute to John Lewis: Ain’t No Grave Can Hold His Body Down” — A song of RESURRECTION.  He lives from the grave in the hearts of two U.S. Senators elected from Georgia in January, 2021 — one was his pastor, the other his former intern — cloaked them in “GOOD TROUBLE.”  Strings arranged & played by Chris Sexton.
(Negro Spiritual with additional lyrics by G. Adegbalola)

“ Keep the Faith” — The pandemic fueled fear of the unknown, isolation, even witness to a Capitol’s desecration.  Twas a bizarre existence, but . . . when we name our fears we tame our fears and we can wallow in the beauty of our own being, deepen our faith and sing a song of FREEDOM.
